Pianist, composer, and singer-songwriter Barbara Higbie has a new album, Resonance, recorded with electric cellist Jamie Sieber, acoustic cellist Mia Pixley, and percussionist Michaelle Goerlitz. Tonight, on The Hear and Now, we’ll listen to tracks from the CD, talk with Barbara about the recording process and inspirations, survey her musical history (among other milestones, she was the first woman signed to Windham Hill Records), and discuss what’s in store for the CD release concert at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley on Saturday, April 13.
