On this month’s South Asia edition, we turn the spotlight on Afghanistan. Often not considered South Asia for being centrally located in the Asian continent, Afghanistan’s political scenario over the last 40 years and its strategic location has been of deep geopolitical and historical significance to the South Asian subcontinent, and indeed, the whole world. The bay area too is home to one of the largest Afghan diaspora in the country. We talk to two Afghan human rights activists based in the bay area, Layla Murtaza and Nahid Fattahi about the evolving situation there.
In the second half of the show, we bring you a compilation of Afghan music by guest producer, Zuha Khan, also known as DJ Baqvas. Produced by Preeti Mangala Shekar.
