Voices of the Middle East and North Africa – Ilan Pappé on Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians

In this week’s program, we hear a talk by prominent Israeli Historian Ilan Pappé. In his talk, Professor Pappé discusses Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians, his newly released book co-authored with Noam Chomsky. The book offers a survey of the fallout from Israel’s conduct in Gaza and places it into the context of Israel’s longstanding occupation of Palestine while it shows how the authors have diverging views on certain points.

Ilan Pappé, is Professor of History at the University of Exeter in the UK, where he is also Co-director of the Exeter Center for Ethno-Political Studies, and Director of the Palestine Studies Centre. He is author of the bestselling The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, A History of Modern Palestine, The Israel/Palestine Question, and is a long time political activist.
