Radio Chronicles – Remembering Pearl Harbor: A Black Perspective

Sixty-eight years ago Pearl Harbor naval base on the island of Oahu in Hawaii was bombed.  Over the years, several film and documentary have been produced.  Yet few stories have been shared about Black veteran, like African American Sailor Doris (Dorie) Miller, Noel Parish, Frederick Douglas Paterson, and Howland P. Perry, the first African American to enlist in the Marines.  It’s all coming up Sunday at 6.30pm on the Radio Chronicles on KPFA, 94.1RM, and online at www.kpfa.org

Hosted and produced by Safi wa Nairobi.
