Dr. John Calloway, flutist/multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger and educator is interviewed by program host Art Sato. Dr. Calloway has been an influential force in the Bay Area Latin jazz scene over the past three decades and was co-director of John Santos' Machete Ensemble for fifteen years. He has performed with numerous illuminaries, including Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Max Roach, Chocolate Armenteros, Carlos "Patato" Valdes, and Manny Oquendo & Libre, to name a few. His Flute Odyssey performs at Yoshi's in Oakland on September 14.
