Radio Chronicles – Day of the Gun: A Review and Rebuttal

According to Mumia Abu Jamal, August in both historic and contemporary African American history, is a month of meaning, a month of repression. You will hear stories of resistance, both individually as well as collectively. You will also hear stories of repression and rebellion as we present part one of the documentary, Day of the Gun, narrated by long time Bay Area journalist, Belva Davis. Day of the Gun was produced by KRON in San Francisco, but how accurate is the documentary which focuses on the life of freedom fighter and revolutionary, George Jackson? Kiilu Nyasha, Black Panther veteran and host of Freedom is a Constant Struggle, offers a thought-provoking review and rebuttal of Day of the Gun. Hear it this Sunday on the Radio Chronicles on KPFA, 94.1FM and online at www.kpfa.org. Hosted and produced by Safi wa Nairobi.
