Poet to Poet: Poet/host Nina Serrano converses with poet, Elías Hruska, author of This Side and Other Things about his most recent collection of poems, Blues for a Summer Day. He reads his poems on the theme of love and loss, cutting across time, place, ethnicity, and generations. Within this framework Elías combines time and place to evoke memories and relationships, past and present: from Sicily where his wife was born, to Cuba, the homeland of his mother, to San Francisco, birthplace of the poet.
