Guitarist/composer Bill Horvitz
Offering a preview of the concerts he’ll be presenting in tribute to his late brother–writer/director/actor Phillip Horvitz–guitarist/composer Bill Horvitz visits the studio to discuss his new music. Phillip passed away suddenly in early 2005 at age 44, and Bill writes: "At some point, I began hearing the beginnings of new compositions that felt in some way related to Philip. I started putting these together and the resulting mix is a collection of folk, jazz, funk, and improvisational works that have come out of the enormous range of emotions I’ve felt since his death." Bill will discuss the composing and arranging process and play excerpts of the music that will be played in concert by an all-star Bay Area band with reads, brass, piano, guitars, bass, and drums. www.billhorvitz.com.
