APEX Express

APEX Express – December 30, 2004

We’ll hear about what’s happening in Sri Lanka, Indonesia and
India; three out of the many countries devasted by the earthquake and tidal waves
that hit Asia. Learn about relief efforts as well as the complex dividing lines in
these countries that make relief and recovery complicated.
Hear about MC and producer Lyrics Born – his acclaimed CD Later That Day, musical
influences, Japanese heritage and up-coming New Years eve show. Also, we’ll hear
about two new books in which the authors’ lives are closely tied to their unique
communities. William Wong comes on to talk about his book filled with historic
photos of Oakland’s Chinatown. We’ll also learn about a barefoot doctor in Vietnam
in the book 4th Uncle in the Mountain.
