Voices of the Middle East and North Africa – October 27, 2004

Join Malihe and Mandana, sitting in for Khalil for
this week’s program, during which, we will first hear
a conversation with UC Berkeley Professor of History,
Beshara Doumani, about his trip to the occupied
Palestinian city of Nablus this past summer. His
article about the subject will appear in the November
issue of the Journal of Palestine studies. In the
second half of the program, we will hear an interview
with the renowned Lebanese composer, singer and oud
player, Marcel Khalife. He is currently touring United
States with his the Al Mayadeen Ensemble. He will be
performing at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco
at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 4th, 2004.
