The Bush Administration wants half a billion dollars from Congress to fund
what it considers to be friendly militias around the world to fight in the
so-called war on terrorism. . . .. .critics say such irregular forces would be
free to carry out torture, assassinations and massacres…

Shhite Cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr accepts a peace plan that is supposed to end
two weeks of fighting with U.S. occupation forces and Iraqi troops and
transform his Mahdi militia army into a political party.. .but fighting goes
on both in the holy city of Najaf and in Baghdad

The state legislature is poised to pass a package of bills that would make
it easier to import cheaper Canadian drugs , something opposed by the Bush
Administration

Temporary workers for the city of Palo Alto move to unionize, saying they’re
not so temporary at all

A protest at the Department of Labor of the Bush Adminsitrations
outsourcing of jobs to private contractors
