APEX Express

APEX Express – July 15, 2004

Journalist Sami Khan talks about a friend, arrested along with 19 other South Asians, and deported in the wake of the post 9-11 scare in a land usually looked upon as a place of asylum. And, the verdict may be in on the hate crime trial involving Asian American victims in SF. We’ll get a view of what transpired and why this trial was unique by Malcom Yeung of the ALC. Also, we’ll learn about the shaky state of Asian American arts organization funding as we talk with Janice Hom of CCAP, a Chinatown-based community arts nonprofit that is a victim of budget cuts in SF. Plus music, calendar and more.
