out of Iraq in late August. It’s unclear if this action saved the life of a
Filipino hostage being held there.

Afganistan schedules its elections in early October. Meanwile the violence continues.

The travel ban on Cuba still exists. But humanitarian help slips into Cuba from
Mexico.

Asian American women hold a peace day forum to speak out against the massive
U.S. military presence in Asia.
