SF Non-profits Glide & Compass Unionize – w/ Mario Lemos and Juliana Dunn

A supermajority of employees at Glide Memorial Church have joined together to form a union under the name Glide United, with the OPEIU local 29. Employees at Compass Family Services are slightly further along in the unionization process, entering the same local. We are joined by Mario Lemos, an organizing committee member of Glide United, and works for Glide Foundation. Glide is a nationally recognized center for social justice, dedicated to fighting systemic injustices, creating pathways out of poverty and crisis, and transforming lives. We are also joined by Juliana Dunn, an organizing committee member of Better Compass For All with OPEIU L-29. They have worked for Compass Family Services— a prominent social services agency in San Francisco serving families facing houselessness and housing insecurity— for about two years and currently work as a Bilingual Case Manager and Bilingual Afterschool Coordinator for Compass’s transitional housing site, Clara House.
