Caroline welcomes Hendrika de Vries, and her powerful pertinent memoir of growing up in Nazi occupied Amsterdam:
“When a Toy Dog Became a Wolf and the Moon Broke Curfew.”
“Hendrika de Vries, author of the memoir When a Toy Dog Became a Wolf and the Moon Broke Curfew, is a therapist, teacher and writer.
A depth-oriented family therapist for over thirty years, she facilitated the healing of trauma, life transitions and empowerment of women. As faculty member of Pacifica Graduate Institute in California, she helped students explore the archetypal patterns of their life stories and discover their personal mythologies.
Her life experiences: a child in the dark days of Nazi-occupied Amsterdam, a teenage immigrant, swimming champion, young wife and mother in Australia, and a move to America in the turbulent 1960s, infuse her writing with historical insight and spiritual passion.
A mother and grandmother, she lives with her husband in Santa Barbara.”
