0:34 – Who is Ed Buck and why are young Gay Black men keep dying in his apartment? We get answers from Jasmyne Cannick (@Jasmyne) a strategist and political commentator based in Los Angeles. She’s a lead organizer in the movement for justice for Timothy Dean and Gemmel Moore, two black men found dead at the home of wealthy Democratic donor Ed Buck.

1:08 – LA teachers strike. Day 2 of the L.A. Teacher’s strike, the first in 30 years, and the district is reporting a slight bump in attendance over yesterday when just a third of students went to school. Many of the students are joining the picket lines to show support for their teachers. So are other union allies. Pacifica’s Dan Fritz has more from Los Angeles.
