7am – Medea Benjamin (@medeabenjamin) is an award-winning peace activist, co-founder of Code Pink (@codepink) and Global Exchange, and author of many books.  In 2012 she was awarded the U.S. Peace Memorial Foundation’s Peace Prize, and in 2014 the Gandhi Peace Award. Her latest book is Inside Iran: The Real History of Politics and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This hour features excerpts from her speech to a KPFA audience in Berkeley on Thursday June 7, 2018 as part of a KPFA benefit, co-hosted with Project Censored.

8am – Darnell Moore (@Moore_Darnell) ‏is an award-winning writer, a leading Black Lives Matter activist, and an advocate for justice and liberation. His first book, a memoir, is called No Ashes in the Fire: Growing Up Black and Free in America. This hour features excerpts from his appearance in Oakland on Tuesday June 12, 2018 as part of a KPFA Benefit, hosted by Greg Bridges.
