1. Give yourself, and us, ample time to prepare and test.
  2. Prepare a quiet environment: Mute cell phones, close all programs and mute system sounds.
  3. Use a computer/laptop that is fairly new, within the last five years.
  4. Create and submit your run sheet to [email protected] at least 15 minutes beforehand.
  5. A wired connection to the internet if doing a remote, or if that’s not possible position your laptop close to your WiFi router.
  6. A USB Mic such as the “Blue – Yeti”
  7. A pair of closed-back headphones.
  8. Chrome web browser to use ipDTL, Skype is to be used a backup only.
  9. A KPFA email account in order to use Google Hangouts to message the On-Air Studio at [email protected] during your live show.
  10. Have a Plan B – Things sometimes don’t work out and Operations will need to rely on your provided and communicated Plan B in your email to [email protected].

IMPORTANT: All Programming and Music Department Staff are required to have and use their @kpfa.org email account for station correspondence. If you do not have an email account, please contact both the Program Director and Operations Manager your request.
