Yesterday, San Francisco senator Scott Weiner rolled out the latest version of his SB-50, which would re-zone areas around transit and job hubs in California for denser housing. Weiner was announcing it on the steps of Oakland City Hall with Mayor Libby Schaff. However, their press conference got drowned out by members of Moms 4 housing — a group fighting eviction from a investor-owned home in West Oakland that they took over and occupied after it spent more than two years vacant.
