Senator Scott Weiner (@Scott_Wiener) represents Senate District 11 that includes the city and county of San Francisco, Broadmoor, Colma, Daly City, as well as part of South San Francisco. Senator Weiner just introduced a new bill to raise the CA Estate Tax to address income inequality.

1:15 – Lead in school’s drinking water more prevalent than we know.

Emily Rusch (@emilyrusch) is the Executive Director of CALPIRG. They just released a new study, “Get the Lead Out” showing most states are failing to protect children from lead in schools’ drinking water. It also includes a new interactive map of school lead testing results. California scored a C+.

Indigenous women and girls go missing or are murdered at startling rates that are not even yet fully known. While there are movements working hard to bring more attention to this, there is little legislation in the nation, minimal police support and then there is the eerily silent mainstream media.
