WorkWeek looks at the effect of the shutdown of Federal workers and interviews FDA administrative worker Chad Davis Montgomery about the closure of his department and the threat to health and safety. Next work week goes to a northern California rally in defense of public education that was held in Oakland on Saturday January 12, 2019. We hear from OEA president Keith Brown and then we hear from UTLA teachers about the harassment and bullying including the use of Peer Assisted Review PAR.
We then interview OEA teacher Matthew Hayes who is a teacher at OUSD Life Academy. He discusses their conditions and why they are having a work rally and march on Friday, January 18, 2019. We also intervew Carlos Taboada who is a retired teacher and counselor from Richmond High and the role of co-locations and school closures and the opening of charters replacing public community schools.
