Tonight’s Thanksgiving episode of APEX Express features music curated by Zuha Khan (DJ Baqvas) on the theme — NO THANKS-giving. She picked artists who are from areas that have been heavily impacted by American and western imperialism and settler colonialism. She included revolutionary stalwarts in the music world like Fela Kuti’s son Seun Kuti. This show is a fun and defiant reminder that native folks were in North America before the British and Europeans and of how strong folks from countries affected by western imperialism are.
