Tune out with Frequency Modulation Radio for a special iteration about the KYMA. The Kyma is a super computer for sound. A powerful sound design, synthesis, sampling and performance environment facilitating the dreams of sound artists, sound designers, and composers alike. The Kyma’s vast sonic capabilities allow the building customized environments and interactive compositions without requiring a background in computer science. A hardware-based audio performance and compositional platform, the Kyma offers an incredible array of tools to generate and process sound in nearly any way imaginable. It’s creators Carla Scalletti and Kurt Hebel founded Symbolic Sound in 1990 and have been running strong for decades developing an ever-evolving platform for their end-users and the Kyma worldwide community. This iteration of Frequency Modulation Radio is dedicated to the Kyma, it’s founders, Kurt and Carla, and to artists producing works using the Kyma.

Hosted by Thomas Dimuzio on 2nd and 5th Sundays.
