A balcony collapse killed 6 people. Will anything change? Plus: Ben Ehrenreich

Ben Ehrenreich author photo credit Peter van Agtmael, Magnum Photos_0It’s been more than a year since a rotting balcony on a new building collapsed, killing six in Berkeley. Turned out the building had a history of being sued for faulty construction, but had been able to keep it secret. And the state legislature *still* hasn’t passed legislation to change that situation — we speak to state senator Jerry Hill. Plus: Ben Ehrenreich discusses his powerful new book about a West Bank village that became an outpost of civil disobedience and international solidarity.

Guests:

  • Jerry Hill, Democratic member of the California state senate representing District 13.
  • Ben Ehrenreich, author of The Way to the Spring: Life and Death in Palestine
