Setting the Standard

Pedro Reyes is a local Bay Area teacher, and works with youth in the community using multiple technologies to teach them Journalism skills. Reyes has been on the airwaves close to 20 years, and has volunteered in kpfa for 14 of those years with various programs at the station. He now has been doing Setting the Standard for 7 years, and continues to bring information, poetry, and most of all music to the airwaves. Reyes is also a part of a mobile broadcasting team that goes out into the community, and brings live radio from the community with programs like Flashpoints, and La Onda Bajita. Always staring out his shows giving thanks to the ancestors, and taking folks on a sound journey is what he does when he is on the airwaves cruzing.
