Here’s all the junk that’s fit to celebrate, including much attempted holiday music from The Jethros, music boxes from around the world, Christmas fiction with Doris Day, more fiction from World War Two, and even more fiction from The Bible. Also, Barbie & Ken in space, John Waters on his favorite bad Christmas music, Tarzan’s Christmas, and more.
Over the Edge – December 18, 2009 at 12:00am
This one focuses down on two artists, Captain Beefheart and Laurie Anderson. The Captain begins it with many lesser known performances and poetry with comments from former Magic Band members, and Laurie ends it with a lot of her works and an appearance at “Speaking Of Music” in San Francisco in 1984 where she demonstrates some of her technology. In between is comb music from the Weatherman’s house.
