This player will not only play CDs, but also plays audio files from a USB drive, it can connect to and play files from a Bluetooth device such as a phone, a tablet or a computer, and is able to play audio on an external device connected to the Aux In.

 

Playing CDs

  1. If the unit is off, press the POWER button to power it on.
        • Do not insert a CD when the power is off, doing so may damage the unit. Also, make sure that there is not a CD already inside the unit. When powering on, press the EJECT button to make sure the slot is empty.
  2. Insert a CD into the CD slot. (Hold the edges of the CD without touching the recorded surface.)
  3. Select CD as your desired media type. This is done by pressing the SOURCE button and selecting CD.
  4. Select the track you’d like to play. This can be done by pressing one of the number buttons (1-0) to enter the desired track number. If the track number is two digits, press the buttons in succession (e.g., 1 then 2 for Track 12). Alternatively, turn the Jog Dial (knob on the right side of the unit labeled SELECT) to select a track.
        • Note that after selecting a track, playback will automatically start. To cue a song, select the track and immediately press PAUSE, press PLAY when you want to start the track.
        • Unlike CD 1 AND CD 2, this unit will not begin playback when the fader is turned on or potted up. You will have to manually press PLAY to begin playback. This means that in order to cue a song and have it play on CD 3’s fader, select the track and press PAUSE, turn on or bring up the fader and press PLAY on the unit when you’d like to start the track.

Playing Audio from an External Device (AUX)

  1.  If the unit is off, press the POWER button to power it on.
  2. Connect the 1/8” (3.5 mm) stereo/headphone output of your external device to the unit’s AUX In. 
  3. Select AUX as the media type.  This is done by pressing the SOURCE button and selecting AUX. If your external device is connected, “AUX Connected” will appear in the display. If your external device is not connected, “AUX Disconnect” will appear in the display. 
  4. Press the PLAY button on your external device to start playback.

 

Playing Audio Files from a USB Drive

  1. If the unit is off, press the POWER button to power it on.
  2. Connect your USB device  to the USB port.
  3. Select USB as your desired media type. This is done by pressing the SOURCE button and selecting USB.
  4. Select an audio file.
    • When a USB flash drive is first connected, it will show you how many tracks are on the USB drive.
    • To move through the audio files, turn the Jog Dial on the unit (knob on the right side of the unit labeled SELECT).
      OR
    • Press one of the number buttons (1-0) to enter the desired track number. If the track number is two digits, press the buttons in succession (e.g., 1 then 2 for Track 12).
    • If the files are separated by folders and you’d like to navigate the different folders, press and hold the FOLDER button, using the JOG DIAL, scroll to the folder you’d like. Once on the folder you’d like, press the JOG DIAL to make your selection. You will now be able to, using the JOG DIAL, navigate and select the different tracks in that particular folder.
  5. Press PLAY to begin playback.

 

Playing Audio from a Bluetooth Device

  1. If the unit is off, press the POWER button to power it on.
  2. Select Bluetooth (BT) as the media type. This is done by pressing the SOURCE button and selecting BT.
  3. Navigate to your Bluetooth device’s setup screen, find “DN-500CB” and connect.
    If your Bluetooth device prompts for a pairing code, enter 0000.  Once connected, “Connected” will appear in the display.
  4. On your device, select the file you’d like to play and press PLAY.

 

Play Modes

  • SINGLE Play
    By default, the player will play the CD/USB drive continuously, meaning that once a track is finished, it will automatically play the next one. To avoid this and have the player stop after playing a track, press the RANDOM button and select SINGLE Play.
  • RANDOM All
    Random All will play the tracks on the CD/USB drive in a random order. To select the RANDOM All play mode, press the RANDOM button and select RANDOM All
  • RANDOM FLD (Folder)
    If your CD/USB drive was created with multiple folders containing tracks in each, RANDOM FLD, when selected, will play the tracks in the current folder in a random order. To select the RANDOM FLD play mode, press the RANDOM button and select RANDOM FLD.

 

NOTE: Settings such as repeat, single play, time displays, etc., will reset once the STOP button is pressed and also when the unit is turned off.
