Offsite Submission (outside of KPFA’s building):Login dialogue box will appear

  1. Name your program as follows “Time-DAY-Date-Show.mp3”
    • for example:
      • 1PM-FRI-20200320-PROJECTCENSORED.mp3
      • 10AM-THURS-20200319-LETTERSANDPOLITICS-INTRO.mp3 and 10AM-THURS-20200319-LETTERSANDPOLITICS-SHOW.mp3 for programs with a news billboard
      • 4PM-SAT-20200321-INYOUREAR-HR1.mp3 and 5PM-SAT-20200321-INYOUREAR-HR2.mp3 for Music programs with multiple hours.
    • IMPORTANT
      • Public Affairs Programs: Save your programs as .mp3 – Mono 16 bit 48kHz (.wav files can not be uploaded)
      • Music Programs: Save your programs as .mp3 – Stereo 16 bit 48kHz (.wav files can not be uploaded)
  2. Upload your program to KPFA’s Dropbox by going to secure.kpfa.org/dropbox
    • username: kpfa
    • pword: Available Upon Request
      • Quality:
        • Bit Rate: 192kbps or greater Constant Bit Rate (CBR) mp3
        • Sample Rate: 44.1khz, Normalized to -24 LUFS
        • Bit depth: 16 bit
      • Length: 29 minutes or 58 minutes depending on your shows allocated time.
      • File Name: Time-DAY-Date-Show.mp3
      • Deadline: 12pm noon, one Business Day prior to broadcast.
      • Deletion: Files are stored for 3 days before deletion
  3. Notify the Operations Department by emailing us at programs@kpfa.org.

Onsite Submission (within KPFA’s building):

  1. Save your program on Temps! in “#FOR BROADCAST ON AIR” within the broadcast folder date.  Please make sure to create a folder titled “Time and Show” within the date of broadcast. For example, “11AM Voices of the Middle East”
  2. Name your program “Time-DAY-Date-Show.wav”
    • for example:
      • 1PM-FRI-20200320-PROJECTCENSORED.wav
      • 10AM-THURS-20200319-LETTERSANDPOLITICS-INTRO.wav and 10AM-THURS-20200319-LETTERSANDPOLITICS-SHOW.wav for programs with a news billboard
      • 4PM-SAT-20200321-INYOUREAR-HR1.wav and 5PM-SAT-20200321-INYOUREAR-HR2.wav for Music programs with multiple hours.
    • IMPORTANT
      • Public Affairs Programs: Save your programs as .wav – Mono 16 bit 48kHz (The on air computer does not play 32 bit)
      • Music Programs: Save your programs as .wav – Stereo 16 bit 48kHz (The on air computer does not play 32 bit)
  3. Notify the Operations Department by emailing us at programs@kpfa.org.

Technical Issues with KPFA’s Dropbox

In the event of technical issues with KPFA’s Dropbox, please email engineering@kpfa.org

Use WeTransfer or your @kpfa.org account to send your program to programs@kpfa.org.  WeTransfer/your@kpfa.org should be used as a backup.
