Songs to Obsess Over n Over… (Sooo…)

February 2026

L’Eclair – Lovin N Affection (feat. INES) (Lisa Baron Cover)

(Innovative Leisure )

For their debut Lagniappe Session as part of Aquarium Drunkard’s Cover Song Series, Swiss space funksters, L’Eclair, released an EP of cover songs of dance floor classics and rarities. Highlights are their cover of Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” set to a freestyle/electro beat and their cover of Lisa Baron’s “Lovin’ N Affection, an obscure new Jack Swing, borderline Freestyle banger from 1990. This cover is a pretty true to the original remake but with more beefed up drums and bassline.

Threetwenty – Fruit

(New City Sound)

Husband & Wife duo Threetwenty (named after the day they met) released their debut Separate From The Noise back in December of 2025 but only found it’s way to my ears in late January by chance. It’s now my latest obsession. Their soulful sound is so warm, soothing and just the ultimate chill groove vibe you’ll need to keep you warm in the winter. Fruit is one of many standouts on the album with it’s head nod laid back vibe that has a bit of a 90’s Hip-hop R&B bounce to it. Pop your headphones on, close your eyes and enjoy.

My new Band Believe – Numerology

(Rough Trade)

My New Band Believe are Cameron Picton (Guitar, Vocals), Josh Finerty (Bass Guitar), King David Ike-Elechi (Drums), Seth Evans (Piano) and only as of now have one prior song out, but this group is easily the band to watch out for in 2026 and beyond. Their 2nd single Numerology, jumps out at you with some intense overly caffeinated & impressive musicianship, slick jazzy chord changes and 4 to the floor rhythm that you cannot stop moving your body to. This band is pure energy. The way this song crescendos, it’s a show stopper. They will blow up, mark my words.

Sotomayor – Me Dejo Llevar

(Wonderwheel)

Sotomayor returns with their latest album Wabi Sabi in 2026, 10 years after their debut, Salvaje. The electronic music project formed by siblings Raul and Paulina Sotomayor, are known for blending Afro-Latin influences like cumbia, afrobeat, and dancehall with electronic beats. Me Dejo Llevar is the new album’s opener and great track to highlight, with it’s funky bounce, hypnotic synths and catchy melodies. This is a beautifully crafted song that hits all the right moods.

Elise Trouw – A Little Blood

(Midtopia)

The Diary of Elon Lust, the sophomore full length from San Diego based, multi instrumentalist, producer, songwriter & vocalist, Elise Trouw is a satirical pop/ electronic concept album. It’s told from the persona of Elon Lust, a character who embodies that Incel X (fka Twitter) so called alpha male energy that also doubles as a cautionary tale, made up things said to Elise and women everywhere. It’s crass, kinda gross at times but also, just well written, well produced and ultimately catchy. A Little Blood, subject matter aside, is the perfect pop, R&B song song that will make you laugh but also sing along to. It’s genius.
