Skip the Needle performs live on the air: The Hear and Now, 10 p.m., Thursday, August 15

The hard rocking, all-women Bay Area supergroup Skip the Needle joins host Derk Richardson in the KPFA performance studio for a live concert broadcast, with Tony Ferro engineering the sound. Katie Cash (guitar and vocals), Shelley Doty (guitar and vocals), Kofy Brown (drums and vocals), and Vicki Randle (bass, percussion, and vocals) [pictured above L-R] will perform songs from their blazing, crunching, positive new album, We Ain’t Never Going Back, just released on the Little Village Foundation label. Skip the Needle will be on the bill for the Little Village Foundation benefit concert, Saturday, August 17, at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, with label mates Anai Adina, Mariachi Mestizo, Enriching Lives Through Music, Betty Reid Soskin, Mary Flower, and Saida Dahir.
