Singer-songwriter Peter Case: Live on The Hear and Now – July 13, 2017

Singer-songwriter Peter Case went from street singing in San Francisco in the early 1970s to forming the influential bands the Nerves (1974) and the Plimsouls (1978) to going acoustic in the mid-’80s and building his long-running solo career. Tonight he joins host Derk Richardson in the KPFA studio. He’ll bring his guitar and play some songs live and spin a few recordings. He’s been back in San Francisco since 2012, recording HWY 62 with Ben Harper, DJ Bonebrake, and others. The album was released by Omnivore Recordings in 2015; the label also reissued an expanded edition of Case’s self-titled debut solo album in 2016. Peter Case will perform at The Back Room in Berkeley on Saturday, July 15, with Wayne Haught opening. (Photo: Ann Summa)
