On April 17, at 10 PM Sing Out welcomes a chat and performance by John Simon. And what stories he has to tell! Simon may not be a household name, but this musician-composer-arranger’s projects are world-famous: he produced Big Brother & the Holding Company’s “Cheap Thrills,” the Band’s first two albums, Leonard Cohen’s first album, Blood Sweat & Tears’ first, and others from Simon & Garfunkel to Gordon Lightfoot, as well as playing in Taj Mahal’s bands. He also recorded his own albums, and celebrates the publishing of his book, “Truth, Lies & Hearsay: A Memoir of a Musical Life in and out of Rock and Roll,” with a concert Thursday (April 18) at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley.
Hosted by Larry Kelp.
