Celebrating the release of Sprig, his latest album of solo guitar (and ukulele), Gyan Riley performs in the KPFA studio, hosted by Derk Richardson. Tony Ferro will engineer the live concert-and-interview broadcast. The son of legendary composer/pianist Terry Riley, Gyan recorded this new work at Harrison House in Joshua Tree, CA, a studio renowned for its pristine acoustics. The New Yorker has called Riley a “one-man American-music machine, amicably ranging across the fields of jazz, world music, and post-minimalism.” Tune in at 10 p.m. to hear the aural evidence for yourself.
