Guitarist Duck Baker live on The Hear and Now, 10 p.m., Thursday, March 22

Host Derk Richardson welcomes the return of fingerstyle guitarist Duck Baker–to the Bay Area, where he lived for many years before moving to England, and to KPFA. Stefan Grossman, who knows a thing or three about playing the instrument, says, “Duck Baker is a true genius of the guitar.” Over the past year or two, Baker has been releasing music at a phenomenal clip, including Duck Baker Plays Monk (on vinyl!). Duck will perform Tuesday, March 27, at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley; he’ll be joined by musician friends Jim Nichols, Tony Marcus, Bill Evans, Helen Roche, and Phillip Greenlief.
