Bay Area singer-songwriter, guitarist (and classical violinist) Ariel Wang is about to release a new album, Bridges, and celebrate it with a show at the Starry Plough in Berkeley on Saturday, Sep. 14. As a preview, she and her band–Lewis Patzner, cello; Terrell Liedstrand, mandolin and vocals; Tim DeCillis, drums; Kevin Gordon, bass; Matt Montgomery, violin; Vicky Perenyi, violin; Jacob Hansen-Joseph, viola–will perform live in the KPFA studio on The Hear and Now. Singer-songwriter Briget Boyle (True Life Trio, and previously with Kitka), is also on the Starry Plough bill, and will sing a few of her songs as well. Derk Richardson hosts, and Tony Ferro engineers. Tune in at 10 p.m., right after The Bonnie Simmons Show.
