Keola Beamer and Henry Kapono, 2 legends of Hawaiian music, became icons in the 1970’s as part of the Hawaiian renaissance.
That renaissance was the seminal movement that brought language, music, hula, art and all aspects of Hawaiian culture back to their central place in the life of the islands.
The legends appear at the Freight and Salvage, located at 2020 Addison Street in Berkeley, on Thursday, January 19 at 8pm.
