In May 2026, the Women’s Cancer Resource Center hosts an exhibit by Mary Isham, entitled “Hope, Heart, and Healing Through Art”.
The exhibit takes place from May 3 through May 29.
A reception takes place on Friday, May 15, from 4:30-6:30 pm.
Mary Isham – a well known radical dyke activist – became an artist after a diagnosis of neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. She was told ‘get your affairs in order.’
She endured a 10 hour surgery, and survived thereafter for almost 20 years.
Post surgery, she was involved in UCSF’s ‘Art For Recovery’ program and she started using art as a mode of healing.
The Women’s Cancer Resource Center is located at 2908 Ellsworth in Berkeley.
