The following are additional activities happening in some of the East Bay Regional Parks during October and early November.
At Crab Cove in the Crown Memorial State Beach you can contribute to the visitor center’s community altar in observance of Dia de los Muertos. Crafts are designed to help participants honor a loved one. This event takes place on October 25 & 26, October 29 & 31, and November 1 & November 2.
Crown Memorial State Beach is located at Eighth Street and Otis Drive in Alameda.
On October 11, you can celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at Black Diamond Mines Regional Park in Antioch by joining a bilingual narrated walk and learn about the forgotten history of the coal mines and surrounding communities.
On October 25 & 26, Black Diamond Mines holds an open house. You can learn of the region’s role in California’s early economic development.
The Black Diamond Mines are located at 5175 Somersville Road in Antioch.
