Since 1991 the “Bob’s Birthday Special” has been an almost annual event on KPFA.

Dylan is a unique force in modern music, seemingly unstoppable and ever-changing. His new CD of pop standards, “Fallen Angels,” was released in May. Meanwhile, his songs continue to be covered: in the past few weeks musicians ranging from Eric Clapton to Los Cenzontles have released new covers of Dylan songs. And Dylan is on the road again, bringing his band and guest Mavis Staples to the UC Berkeley Greek Theater on June 9 and 10.
