On Saturday, October 14, at 8pm, The Back Room presents Yolandra Rhodes and Rod James.
Yolandra Rhodes is a jazz songstress, interpreting works by visionaries such as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and Rachelle Farrell. She has performed with both local and nationally-known performers. She has performed our country’s National anthem at Golden State Warriors games and for the U.S. soccer team.
Rod James is a native of San Francisco who began performing in local clubs with several vocal groups in the mid-’60s. In 2002 he became a member of the iconic group Natural Four, performing at the Monterey Blues Festival, the Jimi Hendrix Experience in Seattle, and Biscuits & Blues in San Francisco.
The Back Room – located at 1984 Bonita Avenue in Berkeley – is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. The venue is ADA accessible.
