FIPPP Fest, the Formerly Incarcerated People’s Performance Project Festival, is a powerful four-day celebration of storytelling, resilience, and transformation.
The festival takes place at the Berkeley Repertory Theater and features 12 formerly incarcerated performers presenting five unique solo shows across four days. Through deeply personal and compelling performances, FIPPP Fest explores the realities of incarceration, the conditions inside prisons, and the complex challenges of re-entry—while centering the humanity, creativity, and lived experience of those most impacted.
Performers bring a wide range of artistic backgrounds to the stage, including stand-up comedy, TEDx talks, The Moth storytelling, Shakespeare, Marsh Theatre productions, and SF Fringe Festival performances. Together, they aim to change the world—one story at a time.
