In today’s WorkWeek show we will go to Houston Texas and interview environmental activist and injured worker advocate Diane Wilson. Wilson has been on a hunger strike along with other to stop the Volero oil company from bringing tar sands to Texas to process at their refinery.
Next we will look at the struggle of the 30 Northern California Mi Pueblo food store workers who are fighting for justice including San Jose and Oakland. These immigrant workers face the ICE and the owners as the fight or justice.
This is also the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln and we will look at the relevance of that anniversary for working people today.
