A 1984 interview with the late Dewey Redman will be rebroadcast today on "In Your Ear." Redman, one of the most original saxophonists of his generation, died on September 2nd in Brooklyn at the age of 75. An adventurous and uncompromising musician, Redman was an important though unsung participant in the 1960s revolution in jazz and his close collaborators included Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, and Ed Blackwell. The interview was recorded by program host Art Sato.
