Singer-songwriter/guitarist Tom Heyman makes a return visit to the Hear and Now on the heels of the release of his fourth solo album, the pub-rock-inspired Show Business, Baby. Heyman launched his music career in the 1980s in Philadelphia, in the band Go to Blazes. Since moving to San Francisco in 1998, he has played with the Court and Spark, Chuck Prophet, John Vanderslice, Alejandro Escovedo, and others, and has released a series of solo albums, including 2014’s superb That Cool Blue Feeling. Heyman considers himself “a folksinger whose job is to tell stories that draw the listener in to his world.” Tonight, his band will include Rusty Miller (electric guitar, backing vocals), Dan Carr (bass, backing vocals), and Chris Sipe (drums, backing vocals). Derk Richardson hosts, Tony Ferro engineers.

On Sunday, January 21, Tom Heyman opens for the Flesh Eaters at The Independent in San Francisco.
