Guitarist John Schott, bassist Dan Seamans, and drummer John Hanes are the Actual Trio, and they’ll be celebrating the release of their second CD, Act II, with a concert at the Back Room in Berkeley on Friday, February 23. First, they’ll perform their original jazz, based on Schott’s compositions, live on The Hear and Now, hosted by Derk Richardson, with Tony Ferro engineering. In the second hour, cellist Joshua McClain, known for his work with Monica Pasqual’s Handsome Brunettes and Spark and Whisper, will perform music from his brand-new CD, Coming Home. His album release concert is Saturday, February 17, at CounterPulse in San Francisco.
