Justin Martin, co-director, and Ammar Haj Ahmad, one of the principal actors of “The Jungle,” a play by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson, at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco through May 18, 2019, in conversation with Richard Wolinsky. “The Jungle” tells the story of the rise and fall of a camp near Calais for those seeking asylum in Britain.
Spencer Liff, choregrapher and Jordan Roth, producer of the musical “Falsettos,” in conversation with host Richard Wolinsky. The National Tour of the Lincoln Center production of “Falsettos” is at SHN’s Golden Gate Theatre through April 14th. Spencer Liff was a child performer on Broadway and has previously choreographed revivals of “Spring Awakening” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on Broadway, and Jordan Roth is the president of Jujamcyn theatres, and previously produced “Bruce Springsteen on Broadway,” “Mean Girls”, the 2018 “Angels in America” revival, and other shows.
James Lapine, director, and William Finn, composer/lyricist of the musical “Falsettos,” in conversation with host Richard Wolinsky. James Lapine is the Tony Award winning director of such shows as “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Into The Woods.” William Finn won a Tony for “Falsettos,”and his other hit musical was “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
Mfoniso Udofia is one of America’s fastest rising playwrights. A second-generation Nigerian-American, plays in her Ufot family cycle have been performed in New York, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area. “Her Portmanteau” plays at the ACT Strand through March 31st, and “In Old Age” opens in previews at the Magic Theatre on March 27th. She is interviewed by Richard Wolinsky.
