There are two primary ways to connect to KPFA On Air, please make sure you are set up to use both options. One may be your primary connection, while the other might be your backup or you might need multiple connections if the show has enough remote hosts and guests.
- ipDTL – https://kpfa.org/connect/ (recommended)
- Use the Chrome web browser and follow the instructions provided
- Please use a USB Mic and closed back headphones instead of your computer’s built in microphone and speakers.
- When your show is done, logout of ipDTL
- guests and hosts can connect by going to kpfa.org/connect
- Zoom -https://us04web.zoom.us/j/71144251109?pwd=WMVSR0sku6kbcosSlkxaxeQ66zSU9n.1
- provide the above link to the guest
- if they dont have zoom downloaded already they will be prompted to download zoom
- Once installed and they connect Please have guests and remote hosts use closed back headphones instead of your computer’s built in speakers
- When your show is done, end your connection/call to the meeting
- whats app – if want or need to use please check in with your board op and engineering department ahead of time.
Contact programs@kpfa.org prior to your show w/ your run sheet and let Operations know the time you plan to connect. Operations suggest you connect 20 to 30 minutes before your show.
IMPORTANT: If you have never done a live remote show, please schedule a test connection with your Technical Producer/Board Operator a few days to a week before your Live Remote in order to make sure your home setup works correctly and remember.
