To Make a Call:

  1. Search or enter your contact’s Skype handle and click on it to establish contact.
    You might want to initiate a chat, letting them know who you are and that you will be calling them momentarily.
  2. When ready to connect, click the Audio Call button represented by a phone icon. 
  3. Turn on and bring up the corresponding Skype fader (either SKYPE 1 if using PC 1 or SKYPE 2 if using PC 2) to put the call on the air.

 

To Make a Conference Call:

  1. Search or enter your first contact’s Skype handle and click on it to establish contact.
  2. Click on the Add to Group button , search for the second contact and click on them to establish a conference call.
  3. Click on the Start Call button  to initiate the call.
    • Know that both callers will be assigned to the same fader.
    • If you wish to assign two different Skype calls to two different faders you will need to use both Skype accounts (ONAIR and UPFRONT), one on PC 1 and the other on PC 2. This will allow you to control the gain of two different Skype calls assigned to their respective faders.
  4. Turn on and bring up the corresponding Skype fader to put the call on the air.

 

Communicating with your Guest Offline:

  • Clicking on your contact will open up a chat window.

OR

  • Once connected, you can check their connection and communicate with the caller/s by pressing the CUE button on the Skype fader and using the talk-back button (TB).

TIPS

    • Be aware that there are two Skype accounts, one is ONAIR and the other is UPFRONT. The UPFRONT account is to be used for contacting guests for UPFRONT.
    • It’s always a great idea to have a backup phone number just in case the Skype connection fails.
    • If Skype is logged out and you need login information, please refer to the Important Login Information page.
    • If experiencing an issue where the the guest can hear the host but the host cannot hear the guest, or vice-versa, make sure that the sound output and input are both set to their default:
      SKYPE 1: OUTPUT or Microphone set to SKYPE IN and INPUT or Speakers to SKYPE.
      SKYPE 2: OUTPUT or Microphone to SKYPE MIX MINUS and INPUT or Speakers set to SKYPE.
