Radio Chronicles – Day of the Gun: Part Two

According to Mumia Abu Jamal, August–in both historic and contemporary African American history–is a month of meaning, a month of repression. You will hear a commentary from Mumia Abu Jamal about the origins and significance of Black August. It's more stories of resistance, both individually as well as collectively. It's also stories of repression and rebellion as we present part one of the documentary, Day of the Gun, narrated by long time Bay Area journalist, Belva Davis. Day of the Gun was produced by KRON in San Francisco, but how accurate is the documentary which focuses on the life of freedom fighter and revolutionary, George Jackson? Hear it this Sunday on the Radio Chronicles on KPFA, 94.1FM and online at www.kpfa.org.

Hosted and produced by Safi wa Nairobi.
