Hey Folks!
Mike Biggz, you’re Interim Music Director here back with a short selection of songs that ruled my life for the last 30 days in the month of October. Let’s take a look and hopefully help you find your favorite new song!

Songs to Obsess Over & Over
October 2025
Elise Trouw & Elon Lust – All You Need Is Lust
(Midtopia)
In the late 60’s The Beatles said All You Need Is Love, a song that has stood the test of time to always be relevant and true. But in our current mostly sex positive climate, Elise Trow asks why can’t it be loves sexier cousin, lust? Back after a long break Trouw returns with a dope new electronic funky dance joint ready to set your night on fire.
Tame Impala – Afterthought
(SME)
For all the albums Tame Impala have dropped in the last decade, a moody disco/house album was not on my bingo card. The brilliant one man bad returns with an impressive LP that is 90% Four To The Floor and of course it’s amazing. He’s one of the only mainstream artists out today who’s music can appeal to the pop drones and the nerdiest of music lovers. Afterthought, an album cut near the end of Deadbeat, is one of the mouse house flavored cuts, with a funky bassline that sounds like it was lifted and reworked from Off The Wall. This is easily one of the album’s many highlights
Say She She – Chapters
(Drink Sum Wtf)
A dope album cut off of my favorite album of 2025 so far, Say She She are the answer to the 2025 Mary Jane Girls. Dropping funky disco, funk, soul beats and some of the best harmonies you’ll hear out today. This trio of talented vocalists bring it on every song. Chapters is one of the many amazing songs off of Cut & Rewind, their 4rd and best studio album to date. Do not sleep on this
Cautious Clay feat Q-Trip – 5th Floor
(Fantasy)
Some groovin’ moody R&B for the soul, as Cautious Clay returns with a new album dedicated to the night time/ The Hours: Night, is the follow up to The Hours: Day, released earlier in the year and is essential listening in 2025. 5th Floor (a0pm) is a head nodder featuring a guest verse from Q-Tip which adds to it’s Ummah vibe it already has so you know you’re here for a funky ride.
Hollie Cook – Shy Girl
(Mr Bongo)
London based singer and keyboardist Hollie Cook has been dropping beautiful records since 2012, which she calls “Tropical Pop. She blends soulful vocals and reggae grooves to carve out smooth uplifting records that remind of classics like Telephone Love by J.C Ldge/ She Girl is the title track to Hollie’s latest LP and instantly hooks you with it’s warm mid tempo groove built for lounging or dancing.
